Newcastle United could be set to move for Hull City defender Harry Maguire, according to a report in the Chronicle.
The former Sheffield United man has been massively impressive for Hull this term, with many people calling for an England call-up. However, despite not receiving the call for the last squad, Maguire has clearly impressed Newcastle chief Rafa Benitez.
Newcastle are making early noises in the transfer market as the prepare for promotion back to the Premier League following yesterdays crucial win over Wigan at St James’ Park.
Manager Benitez will be keen to make some quality additions to his squad, and clearly sees Maguire as someone who he can attract to the North East.
Hull are currently embroiled in a relegation scrap at the foot of the Premier League table, and if they are relegated, then Maguire would seemingly be more open to a move to the Toon given the chance.
